Hockey Types

I bet you think you know hockey. Did you know that there are many different types of hockey?

Field Hockey takes place on gravel, grass, or turf. This form of hockey is played with a small, hard ball. Field Hockey uses a J-shaped hockey stick.

Ice Hockey is played on ice with a three-inch puck made of vulcanized rubber and an L-shaped stick.

Road Hockey, sometimes called Street Hockey, is played the same way as ice hockey, just on the street. In Street Hockey, instead of a puck, a ball is used.

Inline Roller Hockey is like Ice Hockey on a dry rink wearing inline skates.

Quad Roller Hockey has been around since before inline skates. Therefore, Quad Roller Hockey is the same as Inline Roller Hockey with the older four-wheeled skates.

Unicycle Hockey is, you guessed it, played while riding unicycles. It is other wise like Roller Hockey and played with a ball.
